Who we are

Voltfield ("we", "us") operates the Voltfield website and mobile applications (together, the "Service"). Contact: Help@voltfield.org.

What we collect

The Service is a static catalog application. We do not require accounts and do not ask you for personal information to browse, configure parts, or generate BOMs.

Settings are stored only on your device (browser localStorage). They are never transmitted to us.
Requests for quotation that you choose to send us by email or phone contain whatever information you include; we use it solely to respond.
Photos submitted to Part ID. Nameplate/label images you upload for part identification are processed entirely on your device (in-browser OCR) and are never uploaded to us or any third party, unless you choose to attach them to an email you send us.
Hosting logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) may log IP addresses and request metadata for security and operations, consistent with its standard retention practices.

Third-party services

Fonts: pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts are fetched.
On-device OCR: the Part ID page loads the Tesseract.js library from a public CDN (jsDelivr) on first use; the library runs locally in your browser and does not transmit your images.
External links: news and supplier links open third-party sites governed by their own policies.

We do not currently run advertising on the Service. If that changes, this policy will be updated first to disclose the ad provider and your choices.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage (pages viewed, traffic sources, general engagement). GA4 receives your IP address and standard browser/device metadata via Google's tag; we do not use it to identify you individually. You can opt out using your browser's cookie controls or a tool such as Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles this data.

Children

The Service is a business/industrial tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because we hold essentially none, most requests can be satisfied by clearing your browser/app storage; for anything else contact Help@voltfield.org.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date above.
